little punkins!!!!

Our little pumpkin!!!

....and this is how it all started!!! Here is G picking out the biggest pumpkin for baby Q!!
How cute is he!!!  We had the best time carving out his pumpkin!!!!
 uuuuh, so heaby!!!

I found online this fun Christian pumpkin lesson that I did with G while carving out his pumpkin!!!!

1. Take a pumpkin. "You aren't a pumpkin, but all of us are something like one. God picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt off you may have gotten from the other pumpkins." Talk about how a pumpkin is like us: it has an outside and an inside. The outside is what people see. The inside is like our soul or our heart. A pumpkin left to itself will soon rot and die. We will die some day too."
2. Carve out eyes and a small "o" shaped mouth.  As you make the holes and pull out the pieces of rind, ask people what they see inside (yucky stuff). "This is what we look like to others and what we are like when are hearts are not changed. The hearts of men are full of evil and there is madness in their hearts while they live (Ecclesiastes 9:3). How can we get rid of this icky stuff?"
3. "God is the only one who can change our heart. But in order for God to change our heart we must become open to him." Carve an opening in the top of the pumpkin big enough to put your hand through. You might want to quote Revelation 3:20: Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.
4. Put in your hand and pull out the insides. "God scoops out all the yucky stuff inside of us. He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, impurity, and greed." Talk about the cross and how Jesus was willing to become messy for us, so that we might be clean. I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. (Ezekiel 36:25b-27).

why we love him

9.1.12
griffin 2 (almost 3) years

griffin
-has quite the personality
-when you ask him a question, his typical answer is ummmmm, maybeeeee
-will put on one shoe just to stomp on a bug
-loves singing his abcd's (as he calls them) and hakunnah matata
-loves his sister soooo much...if you know what I mean.  He is on hugging her, sitting on her, playing with her or throwing things at her at all times!
-our favorite saying is "I love you times a million" or miyon as griffin says
-he is quick to tell me "I love daddy more" anytime i love you comes up!  Every so often he will tell me, "you are the best Mommy" or "no, I love you more" or " I love you times a miyon" and I can just hear his cute little voice as I am typing this!
-I could probably say with reasonable certainty that Q's favorite part of the day is after coming home from work, the second he opens the door he can hear little pitter patter of Griffin's feet running to hide...he LOVES hiding from his daddy!  and he just squeals and giggles until Q finds him!  LOVE it!  so cute!!!
-mommy, she's a princess (about Quinn, said in a fairytale type voice)
-"oooooh, so heavy" as he is picking her up and carrying her to me...yes, this boy makes me NERVOUS!!!

The other day I asked G what he wants to be when he gets big, he first replied "a schoolbus", so I asked him what else he wants to be, he told me "playday" lol... so then I asked him if he is going to go to work like daddy, he replied, "mommy, I not big, I still a kid"

my conversation with G recently:

Griffin:  here sister, taste this
Me: Griffin, did you just put a fruit snack in her mouth?
Griffin:  mom, she want to try it
...then his mommy races across the room to dig the fruit snack out of her mouth
...ahhhhhh, and I think he thought he was being extra sweet sharing his fruit snacks

happy halloween!!...from the Land of OZ!!!!

A tear almost wells up as I think that one year ago today was such a special day...we found out we were going to have a baby GIRL!!!  I was beside myself with excitement!!!  (I went straight to my favorite store and bought our little princess the cutest outfits....which she still wears since she is such a tiny thing!!!  ;)  and here we are one year later taking our beautiful baby girl trick-or-treating!!!  In a tutu costume no less!!!

When I was laying in the hospital bed about to deliver Griffin I announced to the whole room a list of sibling costumes...for when G would one day have a little brother or sister...I am sure the lion and dorothy was on that list!!!

he was BEYOND excited!!  He wouldn't say "happy halloween" or "trick-or-treat" but would growl like a lion at every house!!!!  love this boy!!!

LOVE these 2 pics!!!  Trick-or-Treaters in action!!!

tutu cute!!! ;)  cutest ladybug and dorothy around!!!

zoo animals!!!  Love that K wanted to be a tiger after he found out his bud was going to be a lion!!

....and Q and I were in costume too...  ;) griffin had told us earlier today that mom was a witch for halloween and daddy was a superhero (with a little help from Q...I am sure of it ;) ....so when we met up with some friends to finish up our trick-or-treating and they asked us where our costumes were....Qand I both replied....we are in costume!!!  HA!!!
